FOR: TGMS Members and open to the public
GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Peter K.M. Megaw, (PhD UofA)
Peter is a Consulting Geologist, President of IMDEX/Cascabel and co-founder of Minera Cascabel and MAG Silver. Peter has been a passionate mineral collector since first setting foot in Santa Eulalia, Mexico, in 1977. He moved to Tucson in 1979 and quickly joined the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, serving in most roles (except Treasurer) over the years. He took on the job of Exhibits Chair for the Tucson Show in 1984, a job he has kept for most of the last 30 years, giving him the opportunity to visit most of the world’s major mineral museums with a special eye out for what they should bring to Tucson.
A special note to all from Peter, in particular to TGMS Members: "I encourage everyone to collect (by any means necessary) a good rock, check a good mineral book out of the TGMS library and volunteer to do something at the Show."
LECTURE TITLE: "The World's Major Mineral Shows, a comparison of Tucson, Munich, St. Marie and China"
Everyone is invited.
